There she was with a South African Patrick Baladi, with nothing but a wicker basket, four ropes and a lot of hot air to keep her afloat.
Turns out she was right - her mate was involved in the girl's murder, a maverick of a missionary caught up in an illegal uranium scheme.
Lovely to see the team taking in some rays in Zambia after all those hours in the morgue.
But with the casebooks closed for now, one mystery endures.
