10.13.2011 'Glee', 'Skins', 'Merlin', 'Game of Thrones': Tube Talk Q&A

As the US fall TV season kicks into full swing and the UK's got a raft of great shows returning (Misfits, Rev, Him & Her) or at the very least, on the dim and distant horizon (Skins, Sherlock), what better time for a Tube Talk Q&A?

The rules are simple: You ask the questions and we answer them! So let's get started...

Fox show 'New Girl'
I've heard a lot about Fox comedy New Girl. When is it coming to Channel 4 and does it match the hype? (Andy, London)
"New Girl debuts on E4 in November and it's a happy thing indeed that UK viewers won't have long to wait - the Zooey Deschanel sitcom is probably the strongest new comedy to debut in the US this television season! It combines smart writing with a likeable lead and strong supporting cast - one to watch."

Merlin S04E03
I want some Merlin scoop. Have you got some? (Becky)
"We have! Merlin himself - actor Colin Morgan - recently hinted to us that the dragons are about to come back in a big way and episode four of this series stars Battlestar Galactica's James Callis as a mysterious stranger with a link to the creatures!

"You want more? Oh go on, then. Merlin fans had better have their hankies at the ready - there's a big emotional moment coming up in an upcoming episode..."

The cast of 'Alphas'
Have we heard if anyone might be showing Being Human USA or Alphas in the UK? (Russel Guppy)
"Do you want the good news or the bad news Russel? Here's the good - Alphas launches on Channel 5's digital channel 5* later this month!

"Unfortunately Syfy UK currently has no plans to screen the US Being Human as far as we're aware - sorry!"

Games of Thrones
Can you please tell me the UK air dates for Law and Order: Criminal Intent's final season, The Good Wife and Game of Thrones? PS I am glad the Q&A session is back. It was missed! (George)
"Unfortunately, you might have a little bit of a wait. We've had a little snoop around for you, and the tenth season of Law & Order: Criminal Intent will be airing on Universal from Sunday, January 15. Start marking your calendars now!

"The other two shows are a little more vague. The Good Wife will be back on More4 in "early 2012", while Game of Thrones might be a bit further away - they're still filming it! It should be airing on Sky Atlantic next April, shortly behind the US broadcast."

Skins S05E08: Franky
Is Skins ever going to come back to E4? I miss it. (anon)
"You're in luck! The third generation will be heading back to our screens early next year - it's normally around January but nothing's confirmed just yet. It looks like it'll be a corker of a series, too.

"Watch out for a big shock in the first episode back - we're talking yikes - and a brand new character to get to know. The theme is also very, very exciting - "secret relationships and sexual awakening". We can't wait!"

Harry Shum Jr. returns as Mike in Season Three of Glee
I'm finding Glee series three a bit disappointing. Can you tease me with anything to keep me watching? (Louise)
"Oh, there's so much good stuff coming up! If you watched The Glee Project, you'll be pleased to see a certain Mr Damian McGinty make his debut in the next episode of the show.

"But what else? Well, the fifth installment of the season ain't called 'The First Time' for nothing - there's going to be some cherry popping in Lima. But who's losing their virginity?

"As if that wasn't enough, in the next few episodes some fans will be very happy about a couple who are finally getting together (though it's not necessarily all plain sailing), a new character could throw the spanner in the works for Klaine, and a familiar face decides to run against Sue for office. Oh, and Puck and Shelby might just get a little closer. Can November hurry up and get here already?"

Steve Carell in 'The Office'
What the hell happened to the US Office on Comedy Central? They stopped showing it halfway through series six (Neil, Norwich)
"Shh. Keep it a secret between us, but we've heard a rumor that Steve Carell and the Dunder Mifflin clan will be back on UK screens next month. So check your TV guides for November!"
