But Dublin actor Eoin Macken admits that he barely gets recognised on the streets of his home town.
"We got six million viewers this season and overtook Doctor Who, but I had a taxi driver in Dublin say to me last week: 'Didn't you used to be in Fair City? Have you worked since?'"
The 28-year-old did indeed play Carrigstown drug dealer Gavin Buxton, but is rapidly turning into an international star with big movie projects to be announced in 2012.
Quite the ladies' man too, his former girlfriends include Una Healy from The Saturdays, from whom he split before her pop career took off, and singer-turned-actress Kellie Blaise, who the actor/director cast in his 2010 film The Inside.
Eoin will join director Jim Sheridan on the judging panel for the Jameson Empire 'Done in 60 Seconds' film competition. Jameson and film magazine Empire are challenging directors to remake an iconic movie within a mere minute of screen time and upload it to www.jamesonempirediss.com.
