12.9.2011 Treat for Merlin fans at Caerphilly Castle

AVID watchers of the hit BBC Wales series Merlin may have noticed Caerphilly Castle making cameo appearance on quite a few occasions.
For those who love the series and castle in equal measure, heritage body Cadw has teamed up with BBC Wales to offer exclusive advance screenings of the penultimate episode in the series.
The episode, which won’t be aired on BBC One until later this month, will be shown at the castle’s Great Hall over the Medieval Christmas Fair this weekend.
In addition to the screenings, original costume from the series will be on show, as well as a photographic display and a green screen installed on the Saturday to enable fans to get a picture of themselves within the magical world of Merlin.
Twenty golden tickets will be hidden around the castle on the Saturday and each ticket found will allow a family of up to four into one of the showings plus free entry to the castle on the Sunday.
Another 130 tickets per showing will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis on Sunday to those visitors who have paid admission to the castle.
