11.12.2008 Belfast Telegraph - Colin Merlin & Children in Need

Merlin Works His Magic for Charity - Belfast Telegraph, November 12, 2008
MERLIN star Colin Morgan will be hoping to conjure up plenty of cash for this year's BBC Children In Need Appeal.
The 22-year-old from Armagh was in Belfast this week to lend his support to Arts Care NIClownDoctors, one of the local projects that have benefitted from funding by Children In Need over the past year.
Colin said: "It's great to be able to come back home.
"For me Children In Need was always something I watched when I was growing up and it's great that I can now be part of it and lend my own support to the appeal." And the young star added: "I think that NIClown Doctors do a great job and work so well with children and young people and they, like many other projects across Northern Ireland, need our support."
Colin also said he was hoping for a magical night when he attends his first-ever awards ceremony in Belfast this week. (feilongfan: Colin likes to used the word first-ever alot!)
Despite being a household name since landing the lead role in the BBC1 fantasy show, Colin has never been to a celebrity awards bash before.
So he's particularly excited about attending the 7Up GO Belfast Awards at the Europa Hotel this Friday.
"I'm really looking forward to it. I did do the red carpet for Merlin but this will be the first time I'll be let loose on an awards do," Colin said.
"It's great that events like this are happening, celebrating everything good about Northern Ireland.
