... despite the cardboard castle set, Merlin has gradually worked a spell on me, mainly because newcomer Colin Morgan lends a decidedly offbeat presence to the title role, his spats with Bradley James as a boy racer Prince Arthur forever hovering on the edge of homoeroticism. At times its felt like Brokeback Mountain with jousting sticks. But thats probably just me. (feilongfan: whoever wrote this, you're not the only one. I like the fact that people from the media also saw it. It's not just the fandom.)
