Colin Morgan looks GORGEOUS in official pics for new BBC drama The Living and The Dead
It’s been a while since Merlin babe Colin Morgan graced our screens as a detective in The Fall – but if you’ve been pining for the BBC favourite then we’ve got some excellent news for you.
He’s been cast in new BBC supernatural drama The Living and the Dead, and they’ve just released their first promotional pics. He has a beard. It’s erotic.
The show, which was written by the co-creators of Life On Mars, Eternal Law and Ashes to Ashes, stars Colin alongside Charlotte Spencer, who you might recognise from Glue.
The official synopsis reads: “Somerset, 1894. A house that’s almost as old as the English countryside itself. A brilliant young couple inherit the farm and are determined to start a new life together. But their presence in this isolated corner of England starts to unleash strange, unsettling and dangerous supernatural phenomena that will start to threaten their marriage.
“This is a drama steeped in the eeriness of the rural world at the moment when the industrial revolution came crashing in to disrupt all the old certainties. Uncanny, intriguing, disturbing.”
“At the series’ heart is the love story of Nathan and Charlotte Appleby: deeply in love with each other but put under extraordinary pressure, they will have to fight to save their marriage and their home.”
Here at Beamly, we think it sounds eerie but lovely, and right in Colin’s ballpark, what with all those supernatural elements creeping in. He’s got wizard training, he does. Knows exactly what to do with sprites and demons and witches and whatnot.
It’ll be a while before Colin’s bearded face lights up your telly, since the show is currently filming in the West Country, under the close eye of Merlin director Alice Troughton. But still – something to look forward to.
