Colin Morgan to star in The Pillowman?
According to sources, Colin Morgan could be set to star in a new production of Martin McDonagh's The Pillowman.
The play - which received the 2004 Olivier Award for Best New Play - takes place in a nameless totalitarian state and tells the story of a fiction writer who is interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories, and their similarities to a number of bizarre child murders occurring in his town. The original cast featured David Tennant, Jim Broadbent, Nigel Lindsay and Adam Godley.
Morgan was last seen on the London stage in a revival of Jez Butterworth's Mojoopposite Rupert Grint, Daniel Mays and Ben Whishaw. His other stage credits include The Tempest (Shakespeare's Globe), Our Private Life (Royal Court) and A Prayer for my Daughter (Young Vic). Screen credits include Merlin, The Fall(BBC) and Humans (Channel 4).
Martin McDonagh recently returned to London for the the first time since The Pillowman with his new play Hangmen, starring Reece Shearsmith and David Morrissey at the Royal Court. The production received rave reviews - including our own five star review - and will transfer to Wynhdam's Theatre in December.
