'Black Sails' season 4 premiere date early 2017: what to expect
It looks like the upcoming fourth season of "Black Sails" will be its last. The show, which serves as a prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson's "Treasure Island," is the first Starz original series to go beyond three seasons.
"Black Sails" executive producer Jonathan E. Steinberg confirmed that season 4 would be its last. He said that while the decision to end the series was hard, they just "couldn't imagine anything beyond it that would make for a better ending to the story nor a more natural handoff to Treasure Island."
