The robots are back.
The stars of Channel 4’s Humans are coming to MCM London Comic Con next weekend to celebrate the Kudos produced sci-fi series’ return to our screens, with cast members taking part in an exclusive on-stage panel a day before the show’s highly-anticipated second seriespremiere.
Taking place at 3pm on Saturday, the Humans panel will see returning cast Tom Goodman-Hill, Ivanno Jeremiah, Ruth Bradley and newcomer Sonya Cassidy (The Paradise) line up alongside Lewis Arnold, the lead director of series 2, Executive Producer Chris Fry and writers and creators Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley to talk about the upcoming series.
Humans Series 2 opens with Niska (Emily Berrington) still at large and in possession of the consciousness code. Unaware of her location, Niska’s synth family of Mia (Gemma Chan), Leo (Colin Morgan) and Max (Ivanno Jeremiah) are each trying to find their place in the world, while Joe ( Tom Goodman-Hill) and Laura Hawkins (Katherine Parkinson) attempt to mend their marriage. But as reports of synths behaving strangely start to surface, the ripple effects of one simple yet seismic decision sees the past return dramatically and surprisingly to the door of the Hawkins house.
Meanwhile in the US, young Silicon Valley billionaire Milo Khoury (Marshall Allman) is pioneering new research. Needing help, he attempts to recruit Dr Athena Morrow (Carrie-Anne Moss) – America’s pre-eminent Artificial Intelligence expert. Suspicious of his motives and focussed on her own work, Morrow is single-minded in her drive to create a new kind of machine consciousness.
As an emerging form of intelligent life – the synths – and an established one – humanity – fight for their places in the world, a thrilling multi-stranded narrative evolves which continues to ask: who has the right to determine what it means to be alive?
See you on Saturday…
